Hi Sail Adelaide entrants,

First of all, thank you for getting on board and supporting the Harken SA Summer of Sail. It is shaping up to be a great regatta and we cannot wait to see you all at the Adelaide Sailing Club on 3 January for four days of great racing.

This is just a courtesy email to provide you with some key information about the event, so we can have a seamless registration process and a successful event.

REGISTRATIONS

We will open the registration desk at 8AM Sharp on 3 January. I encourage you to register as early as possible because it will ease the pressure on the regatta office throughout the day. The regatta office will be located downstairs under the ASC under croft and will also be the main location for questions and queries throughout the event.

HARKEN RACE DESK

The Harken Race Desk is our virtual regatta hub, which includes all the information sailors need throughout the event, including results, sailing instructions, etc. We ask that you familiarise yourself with it and look there first for things you need answers for.

Check it out here >>> www.sasummerofsail.com.au/racedesk

RIGGING AREA

The rigging area is quite large so there will be plenty of room, however we ask that you keep your boats as close to the southern end of the lawn as possible. We also ask that you adhere to the site map instructions that have been published via the Race Desk (quick link below). You must also keep the drop off area of the rigging area (concrete area) as clear as possible, which means you cannot park there unless dropping off a boat.

Check out the sitemap here >>> www.sasummerofsail.com.au/asc-sitemap

MERCHANDISE

We have some great MUSTO merchandise on sale at the event, with t-shirts, hoodies and rashies on sale. Check out the range at the link below. Following the first event at the Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club, merchandise numbers are now limited, so if your size is unavailable we can place an order and post garments out to you following the event at no extra charge.

ENTRIES ARE STILL OPEN

For those who have friends still considering going sailing, tell them that entries are STILL OPEN! and they will stay open up until the morning of the event. We also have one, two or three-day passes available at reduced prices for those that can’t race the full four days, so there are plenty of options for people to still get involved. Spread the word!

To enter, head to www.sasummerofsail.com.au/entry

ON-SITE CHANDLERY

We are pleased to have partnered with Binks Marine to provide an onsite chandlery on the mornings of all four days of the event, so if you need any fittings or sailing gear we ask that you show your support to them. They will have their trailer set up on the lawn in the rigging area, in close proximity to the clubhouse.

ON-SITE PHYSIO

We will also be having an on-site physiotherapist, Emma Fletcher from My Little Physio Family, who will be providing free sports massage, taping/strapping and exercise/stretching advice between 0800-1230 each day. This will no doubt be popular on the mornings after the windy days! She will be located in the downstairs canteen area. Paid services, claimable on private health, will also be available at the event by appointment. Keep an eye out in your regatta packs for her flyers with more information.

COMMUNICATION

The majority of our regatta updates will be provided via our text message database, which uses entry data to communicate with you. This also includes automated response functions for a range of event information. If you have any questions, you can text ‘INFO’ to 0447 051 652 to see what options are available via the textline.

SOCIAL EVENTS

The Adelaide Sailing Club and their hospitality partners Oceanique have done a stellar job putting on a great event off the water with plenty of food and drink available after sailing each day. The canteen will also be open each day before racing and the Comits Cloud Regatta Village will be where all the action happens on the lawn for the 3rd and 6th of January, including daily presentations. For the 4th and 5th of January, the post-sailing social activity will be happening upstairs. We encourage you to invite your friends and family down to enjoy the atmosphere of this major event. After the first day of racing we will also be hosting the Yacht Lab Pop-Up Bar where Bar Karate Sailors Lager will be the drink of choice for senior sailors, as well as soft drinks for the juniors. Make sure you support these great sponsors.

COVID-19

Please note that ASC has an approved COVID safe plan in place with:

  • QR code check in required in downstairs areas
  • Separate QR code check in required in upstairs areas
  • Manual check in sheets available
  • Hand sanitiser station and pump packs available

Please observe all COVID safe signage (person limits) in all areas of the club, including balcony area, under balcony area, canteen area and the change rooms. Please remember to maintain social distancing when possible, be aware of hand hygiene and cough/sneeze etiquette, and also if you have been or are unwell, please do not attend. Interstate visitors we ask you to please provide or show valid SA Government COVID safe clearance documents at the registration desk.
